There has been a huge increase in the number of electric cars sold in the UK, with more than 40% of models now available as plug-in models. Automakers including Nissan, Tesla, Ford and Vauxhall have all added affordable plug-in models to their ranges. Premium manufacturer Volkswagen has gone one step further with the all-electric ID. series, while Mercedes-Benz created its innovative Mercedes EQ model.
